Last post!

Hi everyone,

This will be our last post on this blog! Since we are no longer teaching in Cambodia this blog is no longer relevant.  I, Cynthia, will be creating my own blog which I will link to my Facebook page. If you don't have Facebook and want my blog address, please let me know via e-mail. Not sure if Tim will have one, as he says he is "not a blogger."   :)

Tim and I arrived in Wichita, KS on June 3! Currently we are staying with a couple from our church in Wichita, KS. We have no jobs as of yet. We are applying to teaching positions in various states and are waiting to see where God leads us. It was a joy to see our youngest son, Jon, and his wife Mollie and we got to visit with them before we headed off down the road. :)

Right now we are in El Paso, TX visiting our oldest son and his family. We are enjoying loving on our grand kids! Little Wesley was born May 7 this year and we are thrilled to get to see him, along with our two grand daughters.  :)

Next step is to drive to Tucson, AZ and see our moms (Tim's and mine) and other family members and job hunt too while there. Yay!

After that, we will drive back to Wichita, KS. We have no idea where God is leading us past that....please pray that we experience peace and contentment while we wait for God to provide jobs for us.

Thank you for all your prayer support and encouragement over the last two years during our adventure and ministry at Logos International School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia!!

God bless you all and we'll keep in touch through FB and/or e-mail!

Cynthia, for the both of us

Finishing Up and Coming Home!

Well folks, I can't believe I am typing this....we are coming home!!!  NEXT WEEKEND!!
We arrive in Wichita, KS Sunday, June 3 at 2 p.m., pending any flight changes or delays.

I am so stoked! Can't wait to see my son and his wife who live in Wichita and church family there.
Besides seeing everyone again, we need to take care of a few things while in Wichita, so we'll probably stay a week there.

Then we'll get into our beat up old van (which is still running thank God!) and drive to El Paso, TX, to see our two grand daughters and new grand son! I can't wait to cuddle with Wesley! Wesley Michael was born on May 8 and is a healthy happy boy! He has some challenges in the future, as he has a cleft lip and palate. God allows things like this for a reason and because of this Wesley will be a special person!
Please pray for Josh and Erica as they will face surgeries, doctor visits, and for Wesley as he will face these things also and speech therapy, etc.  God already knew about all this, so we know that He WILL provide all that they will need. We don't yet know how long we'll be staying in El Paso.

After visiting in El Paso, and possibly Tucson, AZ, since it is a few hours away from El Paso, we'll return to Wichita. After that....we don't know what we will be doing...:)  We don't yet know where we will be settling, as we have no job offers yet.

We also know that God will work all the details out, as we have been in this situation before and He always provides for us!! So, we are not worried. Pray that we find temporary housing....since we have no jobs, we really can't rent. We will need places to stay until we find jobs; we can also house sit if anyone knows of anybody who will be gone on vacation and wants someone to house sit.  :)

As we finish up this week and a half left, we are busy with many things....
saying goodbye to students and staff
saying goodbye to good friends we've made over the last two years in Cambodia
    packing
    selling things
finishing up at school - finals for Tim's classes, report cards, etc
staying safe in the crazy traffic here!
staying healthy - not getting Dengue or a parasite or something right before we head home!

Thank you for all those who have supported us financially and with prayer! We are more grateful than words can ever express! It has been a wild adventure here in Cambodia and we thank God for all that He has taught us over here! We have loved teaching at Logos International School; we love the students and the staff. We have made some great friends. We will miss everyone terrible. We have had the chance to travel and see places that you only get to see on postcards. We have had some real challenges and struggles and some dark days.We have had some near death experiences many times in traffic. But through it all, Jesus has walked beside us and still does.

As we finish strong here, we begin to think about getting home and seeing our family and friends in America. We have mixed feelings - kind of bittersweet. Sad and happy....at times my emotions switch from hour to hour! (Cynthia)

We arrive in Wichita, KS on Sunday, June 3 at 2 p.m., pending any flight changes and/or delays. We welcome any one and all who want to come meet us at the airport!!! :)

Continually in His Service,
Cynthia, for the both of us

Odds and Ends...or just Odds and Odds

sign in the frozen yogurt shop - wow, we felt like we took off 5 years from our lives as were eating!

chocolate frozen yogurt with coconut and choc chips - yummy

hmmm....

broken? don't throw it away, just fix it!

huh?  -  this is typical

That's a restaurant - in case you can't see the name, it says No Problem....

at least you can read this and figure it out...most of the signs are like the business 2 photos above

tired? no problem, just take a nap right there in your store!
